Lets get cooking…

  1.  Gently melt the butter over a low-medium heat. Add milk and 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil and mix together. Once it’s all combined, take off the heat and set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients (the flour, the sugar, baking powder and salt) and mix with a fork.
  3. Make a hole/well in the centre and pour in the butter mixture. Mix with a fork until a thick dough forms.
  4. Using your hands, roll dough into little flat balls and with your thumb, press a hole in the centre of each donut. (TIP: You’ll need flour for your hands for this part to avoid getting sticky!)
  5. Heat up the oil in a pan for 5-10mins. Gently lay the donuts into the oil using a spatula. Fry for about 3-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the donuts onto some tissue paper to soak up any excess oil. Let it cool for 5mins then roll into a bowl of the remaining 50g sugar.
  7.  Enjoy!!!
